Home of the OPS Civil Dragons and Dragonflies & host of the 7th Annual Canada Day Regatta!
The OPS Dragon Boat Club is excited to coordinate the dragon boat races at this unique and historic event.  The event is UNIQUE in that it combines dragonboat races with rowing and canoe/kayak races.   It is HISTORIC in that this summer marks the amazing 125th anniversary of the Canada Day event run by the DDRA (Dominion Day Regatta Association).   This is one of the oldest mixed race events in North America.

We invite YOU to be part of this event, especially if you want to try out dragon boating for the first time!   Come and find out why dragon boating is the fastest growing water sport in the world.  No experience is necessary!

Registration for all Canada Day teams is now closed.   Please contact
Tim.MacFarlane@Ontario.ca or mobile phone 416-319-1867 if you have
any questions about this event or the participating teams.  The Green
Dragons and Blue Dragons are our teams for beginner paddlers.

This is a sport that ANYONE can have fun participating in.  Dragon boating is popular due to the fact that age, gender, physical fitness level, experience level, etc are no barrier to a great team.  This is a unique team sport where diverse people can easily work together and compete effectively with few practices.

This team was created to give new paddlers a taste of what dragon boating is all about, with little commitment of time and money.  Of course, experienced paddlers are very welcome to join this team as well.

In short, ANYONE is welcome to register and get some quick dragon boat lessons.   Friends, family, and co-workers are encouraged to participate in this regatta!

Individuals will also have the option of pre-purchasing BBQ lunch items and ferry tickets (at cost) for Canada Day.

The OPS Dragon Boat Club notified all team captains immediately and we thank them and all of their paddlers and coaches for working with us to arrange car-pooling, etc for the move to Welland.  The races must go on!
